You're a software developer and work in the Intelligence Community. It's time to change companies. Maybe you're passively exploring new opportunities or searching for your first job out of college. Should you join Rhodev? Maybe...
We'd wager compensation is at the top of your list (as it should be). Let's be honest—that's we why we come to work every day.
When we say "compensation", we mean Total Compensation (or TC). Realistically, this is how you should be evaluating all your offers. It allows you to quantify all factors of how you're compensated:
Make sure you're only including benefits you can actually benefit from an on annual basis.
You get a tuition reimbursement but don't plan on furthering your education? Is it really a benefit?
Sure, that sign-on bonus looks pretty nice. But what does your average TC look like over 2 years? 5 years? Will you have to go job hunting in just few years to reset your TC again?
Would you rather get a few grand in credits for "company swag"? Or just pocket the cash and take your family on a nice vacation?
The Rhodev Formula™ (it's not really trademarked) is intentionally simple. Instead of getting a "raise for your hard work" after an arbitrary number of years, you get a top-of-the-line rate from day one. You get paid for each hour you work on contract. Accrue as much PTO as you want. We automatically contribute 20% of your W2 income to your 401(k), vested immediately. You get reimbursed for health insurance at an amount that makes sense.
It's not complicated. It's easy. Fair. Sustainable. Employee-friendly.
By compensating you extraordinarily well from the start, you can be comfortable knowing you don't have to jump around from company-to-company to maximize your compensation. There could be plenty of reasons why you'd decide to leave a company. When you're at Rhodev, we want to ensure that compensation isn't one of them.
We want you to feel like you're self-employed—without the overhead and headaches that come with running a business. When you're a Rhodev employee, you'll be given the freedom and flexibility to navigate your career as you see fit.
As long as the customer approves, work as many hours as you want within a schedule that works for you. Have a bank of PTO and need an influx of cash? Cash out your PTO at any time. Oh—and you'll never feel the urge to "make up hours" or be forced to use PTO.
Does your spouse already have insurance? Still on your parents' health plan? Instead of the company pocketing the profits, we'll just increase your hourly rate.
As a smaller company, we have an advantage of having a minimal amount of overhead. Our business operations are also pretty darn efficient. Both of these factors contribute to our ability to pay so well.
For growing companies, it's always a challenge balancing overhead and operational efficiency with growth. To tackle this challenge, we rely on our existing employees.
If you're a self-starter and want a way to increase your compensation outside of working on contract, those opportunities exist (like bringing new work or employees to the company).
And of course, if you just want to perform on contract, we'll eliminate the red-tape and let you do what you do best—write code!
We're building a reputation for providing our customers with top-notch development services. Our developers lead teams responsible for mission-critical applications. They're results-oriented. But most importantly, they have an unwavering commitment to defending and securing our nation.
If we want to continue building this reputation, we want to attract the right kind of developer. High performers with the ability to code to customer requirements.
You can easily pick up on the semantics of a Node backend if you have experience writing APIs with Python. But are you customer focused with a desire to learn?
Hopefully, this has given you a better idea of whether Rhodev's a place you can envision yourself.
To answer the question...if you're a high performing developer who wants to wants to be highly compensated while having a path for growth within a company, then maybe it's worth applying to see if we have an opportunity that could be a fit.
